Interventions that meet the expectations of stakeholders
The areas of intervention proposed in the Strategic Plan bear witness to the concerns and wishes communicated by the various actors and partners at the time of its development. Stakeholders have expressed the need for both qualitative and impactful rehabilitation programs that will bring about sustainable change and that would help reduce the national recidivism rate, which currently stands at 69%.

A three-pronged strategy
Kinouété has unveiled an organizational strategy that focuses on three objectives. The first objective is about adopting a creative and person-centered approach in the design, implementation and monitoring of programs and interventions. This involves focusing on the overall objective of the association: “each detainee is mobilized and supported to face their detention and reintegrate into society in a sustainable way”
The aim is to introduce standard frameworks and practices for supporting people in prisons, and from prisons back to the community.
The second part of the strategy is to foster a more conducive and inclusive environment for the reintegration of formerly incarcerated people, through community mobilization and social awareness, with the aim of reducing stigma and discrimination. " Increased presence and interaction with the community, strengthening communication and partnership with prison authorities remain our priorities " says Wensley Emilien, Director of Kinouété.
And finally, the last objective of the strategy aims to strengthen the internal structure of Kinouété by strengthening the teams and improving internal and external communication. This involves, among other things, developing a structured and multi-targeted fundraising plan.
A permanent exchange with partners
When the local sanitary situation will permit, meetings will be held to the various partners in order not only to share the achievements, but also to take time to discuss about the continuation of rehabilitation and reintegration efforts. “ There is a lot of work to be done and we are aware of the challenges. We are determined and Kinouété will make every effort to ensure that in 2025, it reaches the desired destination! » Wensley Emilien Director of Kinouété declares.
